Research Interests

My current researches are focused on a range of problems in the following fields:
Machine Learning, Data Mining, Statistical Bioinformatics, Personalized Medicine, Cancer Research and Probabilistic Models

Current Projects

Disease Progression Modeling

We use ADNI and PPMI data in order to develope probabilistic models for progression of Alzhimer and Parkinson disease. This is a project in collaboration with Algorithmic Bioinformatics group, BIT center, University of Bonn, Germany.

Biological Network Inference

Inference of Biological Networks (such as gene regulatory networks or protein-protein interaction networks) is a fundamental research in Bioinformatics. In this project we use Bayesian Inference to infer gene regulatory networks from gene expression data. Since learning the posterior over the distribution of network structure and parameters is not computationally feasible, we use sampling methods such as mcmc for this task.

A system for automating and monitoring the processes for cancer prognosis education

This is a project in collaboration with Mehraneh charity in order to assist their cancer early prognosis activities. A team of undergraduate students from IASBS are envolved in the software implementation. The background knowledge behind design of this software system comes from a 6-month study of cancer registry piplelines around the world by a team of medical students at Medical University of Zanjan.
