Neuroscience has known quite much about how the brain learns and recognizes spatial patterns, but there is little knowledge about temporal patterns, sequences. We are running some toy models to explore how timing-dependent-plasticity rules can lead to the learning of the temporal patterns. This is still in initial stages [see 1, 2].
