IT and CS Department

Department of Computer Science and information Technology aims to provide high-quality education and top-notch research. It provides a supportive and friendly environment. Currently, the department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology. The following research groups actively work on the state-of-art researches:

  • Soft Computing and Artificial Intelligence
  • System Theory
  • Data Mining
These groups consist of 11 research-active faculty members and they have published more than 100 journal and conference papers in the international publications



Algorithms and Theory of Computing

Algorithm and Computation” research group at the institute of Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences has been initiated in 2008 as the first research group at CS department. The group focuses on Algorithms, Computational Geometry, Graph Theory as well as Robot Motion Planning. The variety of faculty members in this research group covers different applications ranging from AI, Data Science, Medical applications and so on. Members are involved in numerous national and international research project and collaborates.

Soft Computing and Artificial Intelligence

The Artificial intelligence group focus on the wide research areas include machine learning, deep learning, transfer learning, multi-agent learning, graphical models, computer vision, text mining, natural language processing and motion robot planning. The aim of this group is to design new algorithms to develop practical applications of real life scenarios.

System Theory

Master's degree in computer systems covers advanced topics in data storage, information systems, communication systems, systems analysis, real-time systems, high-performance communication, and system security.

Data Mining

Data Mining research group at the institute of Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences has been initiated in 2003 and consists of 10 faculty members. The group focuses on theoretical and practical methods in data integration, analysis, visualization as well as applied machine learning and statistical analysis in data science. The group is involved in numerous national and international research project. The variety of faculty members in this research group covers different topics ranging from machine/deep learning, big data analysis, data science as well as bioinformatics.
