Young IASBS researcher’s “flexible supercapacitor” featured on cover of leading international journal

A valuable research project by PhD university student Mohammad Barazandeh in analytical chemistry at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) has been selected as the cover feature of ACS Omega (Vol. 10, Issue 41, 21 October 2025). The work concerns the design and fabrication of flexible supercapacitors with exceptional electrical energy-storage capacity and excellent operational stability, achieved using a hydrogel–nanocomposite structure incorporating the conductive polymer polyaniline. The research has been undertaken under the supervision of Prof Seyed Habib Kazemi in the Nanomaterials and Energy Systems Laboratory of the IASBS Department of Chemistry, in collaboration with Farzaad Rouhi, Davood Soleiman Heydar, and Prof Adniwal of Sweden, and has contributed to advancing the knowledge required for producing flexible supercapacitors that will play a crucial role in the future development of efficient wearable-energy systems.
