The 23rd annual Meeting on Research in Astronomy has been held at the IASBS. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the meeting was held online on 28-29 May 2020 allowing international participants to take part as well.
The Scientific Committee selected 55 articles out of 120 submitted papers to be presented in the form of webinars. The online nature of the conference allowed more than 290 participants interested in astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology to attend talks by more than 30 speakers from Iran, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Germany and the United States, who discussed the latest research results in their respective fields.
The distinguishing feature of the 23rd IASBS Meeting on Research in Astronomy was the possibility of having online poster presentation sessions by more than 20 participants. This goes to show that sometimes virtual meetings can be even more accessible than the usual face-to-face conferences.
For more information, please go to the website of the 23rd Meeting on Research in Astronomy.
