Prof Yousef Sobouti wins first Dr Mohammed Ghareeb Award in Basic Sciences

The outstanding professor of physics, Dr Yousef Sobouti, has been selected as the recipient of the first round of the Dr Mohammed Ghareeb Award in Basic Sciences by the jury committee.

Professor Yousef Sobouti who is a faculty member of the Physics Department at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences received the Award because of his scientific influence, prominence at the national and international levels, beliefs, spirituality and humility, responsibility, accountability, hard-work, discipline, abidance of law, good reputation, and participation in charity work and the civil society. The first round of the Dr Mohammed Ghareeb Awards was held on Friday, 21 January 2022.

These awards are granted every two years under the auspices of the Iranian Society for Ethics in Science and Technology to forerunners in science and technology and activists in ethics in the areas of “Medical and Biological Sciences”, “Basic Sciences”, “Humanities and Social Sciences”, “Agricultural Sciences, Natural Resources and Veterinary Medicine”, “Environmental Sciences”, “Technical and Engineering Sciences”, and “Architecture and Arts”.
