The Computer Center is on the second floor of the Physics Department (next to the Physics computer site). This Center provides the following services to the members of the university.
Torkaman Library was established in 1993. It contains a useful combination of specialized and general books, bilingual dictionaries, and specialized and general encyclopedias.
The Education Office comes under the Education and Research Department. Its main job is to manage the educational affairs of the students from registration to graduation.

The automatic climatology station at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) has been inaugurated. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, 8 April 2025, on the northern premises of the IASBS Basic Sciences and Advanced Technologies Research Institute building, located in the Science and Technology Park. The event was attended by Deputy for Civil Affairs at Zanjan Governor’s Office, Mr Masoud BayatManesh; Director General of Meteorology for Zanjan Province, Mr MohammadReza Rahman-nia; the Head of the Supreme Leader’s Office at Zanjan universities, Hojjatoleslam Haj Agha Gharadaghi; the IASBS President, Prof Sadollah Nasiri Gheydari; vice presidents; and a group of IASBS department heads and senior managers.
Equipped with a variety of modules and sensors and connected in real time to the National Meteorological Data Collection System, the IASBS automatic climatology station has been launched as one of the three key stations in Zanjan. The station currently hosts five main meteorological modules, including sensors for monitoring wind speed and direction, temperature and humidity, and atmospheric precipitation. These modules are functional across more than 20 of Iran Meteorological Organisation’s climatology platforms. The station has the capacity to expand to a total of 14 advanced weather monitoring modules.
The station’s effective integration with the IASBS Lidar Laboratory, based in the Department of Physics, and with the IASBS Centre for Climate Change and Global Warming, enables the collection and analysis of a wide range of atmospheric data (terrestrial, aerial, and subsurface). This synergistic research setup is expected, in the near future, to position IASBS as one of the country’s leading hubs for applied meteorology.
