The Computer Center is on the second floor of the Physics Department (next to the Physics computer site). This Center provides the following services to the members of the university.
Torkaman Library was established in 1993. It contains a useful combination of specialized and general books, bilingual dictionaries, and specialized and general encyclopedias.
The Education Office comes under the Education and Research Department. Its main job is to manage the educational affairs of the students from registration to graduation.

A ceremony has been held at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) to commemorate the National Day of Hafez, the celebrated Iranian poet known as Lesan-ol-Gheyb, Khwājeh Shams-od-Din Mohammad Hafez-e Shirazi. The ceremony took place on Sunday, 12 October, in the university’s main hall.
The ceremony had been organised by the university’s Student Basij (mobilisation) Organisation in collaboration with the Office of Cultural and Student Affairs and the Public Relations Office.
During the event, a group of students interested in poetry and literature recited selected ghazals of Hafez as well as their own compositions, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
During the ceremony, the IASBS President, Prof Sadollah Nasiri Gheydari, made reference to the prominent place of poetry and literature in Iranian culture and their role in nurturing thought, creativity, and human insight alongside the basic sciences. He emphasised the importance of linking science and art within the academic environment.
Later in the programme, Dr Mehdi Mohabbati, an award-winning author, distinguished Persian-literature scholar, expert on Hafez, and faculty member at the University of Zanjan, delivered a lecture offering an analytical perspective on the mystical, philosophical, and human dimensions of Hafez’s thought, which was warmly welcomed by the participants.
The event was aimed to honour Iran’s literary heritage, promote Hafez’s mystical ideas, and foster a sense of cultural vitality across the university. Through its continuous cultural and academic initiatives, the IASBS strives to play an active role in advancing the Irano-Islamic culture and literature alongside its research activities.
