IASBS faculty publishes paper in The Lancet

Dr Mahdi Bohluli, a faculty member of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, has succeeded, in collaboration with a large number of scientists from all over the world working in the fields of medicine and data science, to publish the results of their work in THE LANCET. Established in the 19th century, The Lancet is one of the oldest and best known general medical journals in the world and has an impact factor of 59.102.

The paper entitled “Health sector spending and spending on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, and development assistance for health: progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 3” is currently accessible on the journal’s homepage.

Dr Bohluli is an active member of the WHO‘s “Global Burden of Disease Health Financing Collaborator Network” and in collaboration with colleagues from Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) is responsible for collecting and analysing national health data as well as applying the methods of data science to extract medical knowledge from health and medical data.
