10th Ali Mohammadi Award granted to IASBS graduate Dr Amin Babazadeh

The 10th "Ali Mohammadi Award" has been granted to the IASBS PhD graduate, Dr Amin Babazadeh.

Dr Babazadeh was selected from among 10 PhD graduates of physics at different universities across the country for his PhD dissertation on optics entitled “The conversion of the classical and quantum wavelengths of light in 2nd order non-linear media” under the supervision of Dr Rahman Nouroozi.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the awarding ceremony will not be held physically. Instead, there will be a virtual event held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and participation of various universities.

The Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), in collaboration with the Iranian Physics Society (PSI), has been awarding the "Ali Mohammadi Award" every year since 2011 to the best doctoral dissertation in physics prepared within the country and having completed the examination process up to 3 years ending in the year of the granting of the Award.

The Award is named after the martyred Tehran University lecturer, Prof Masoud Ali Mohammadi, for his scientific and academic achievements and also since he was the first PhD graduate of physics who received his doctoral degree at a university in Iran.
