Young trees planted at IASBS; health protocols & social distancing observed

A ceremony to plant young trees has been carried out at the IASBS to mark the Natural Resources Week and to celebrate Tree Plantation Day. The event took place on Saturday, 13 March 2021 with due observance of health protocols and social distancing rules.

During this event which took place from 11:00 to 13:30 and was attended by the IASBS President, Vice Presidents, and a number of faculty, administrative directors, staff, and students, more than 300 saplings were planted in the north of the University in the middle grounds on the north side of the Department of Earth Sciences and also at the Modern Technologies Incubator in the Science and Technology Park in the south of the University. The planted saplings included coniferous pines, black pines, white cedars, silver pines, ash trees, maple trees, sycamore trees, and elm trees.

Since April 2020, more than a thousand saplings and small trees have been planted at the IASBS. In keeping with the principles of maintaining a green university, there has been a constant effort at the IASBS to plant trees that require less water for their growth.
