PhD alumnus wins Ahvazi Brain and Cognition Award

The 10th Ahvazi Brain and Cognition Award has been granted to Dr Mojtaba Madadi Asl, a physics graduate at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS). On the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the country’s 12th Congress on Basic and Clinical Neurosciences, the Ahvazi Brain and Cognition Award was granted to Dr Mojtaba Madadi Asal for his research entitled "Improving the performance of brain’s electrical stimulation methods for the treatment of brain and nerve diseases" under the supervision of Prof Alireza Valizadeh, a faculty member of the IASBS Department of Physics. Dr Madadi won the third place in the presentation section for young researchers in the 10th round of the Ahvazi Brain and Cognition Award.

This award, which is one of the most prestigious neuroscience awards in the country, is given to the winners under the age of 35 among the researchers in the fields related to neuroscience and cognitive sciences and technologies. The award is named after Ali Ibn Abbas Masoudi Ahwazi, a prominent Iranian physician of the 10th century (4th century after Hijra (AH)).

The members of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) congratulate the country's scientific community and especially Dr Madadi for winning this award.
