A tripartite agreement has been signed to invest in the ICT Technology Tower and promote R&D in the electricity sector. The signing took place on Saturday, 27 July 2025, at the Zanjan Governor’s Offices in the presence of the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, Dr Hossein Afshin; the CEO of Pars Switch Company in Zanjan, Dr Gholamreza Farsad; and the IASBS President, Dr Sadollah Nasiri Gheydari.
The agreement, which has also been signed by the Zanjan Governor, Dr Seyyed Mohsen Sadeghi, and Zanjan MPs, Dr Mostafa Taheri and Dr Nabiollah Mohammadi, aims to utilise the capacity of Paragraph (d), Article 11 of the Law on the Leap of Knowledge-based Production to develop innovative and technological infrastructure in ICT and the electricity industry in Zanjan Province.
According to the terms of the agreement, the IASBS will act as the supervisor and beneficiary of the project, Pars Switch Company as the investor, and the President’s Department for Science as the guarantor of the tax credit allocated to the project. The amount of the investment will be approved by the Steering Council for Technologies and Knowledge-based Production and allocated under the supervision of Zanjan Province’s General Department for Tax.
Under this agreement, the IASBS is responsible for ensuring strict supervision of the project’s implementation in accordance with the timeline, submitting biannual progress reports, and following up on approvals required from the Strategic Council for Technologies and Knowledge-based Production. Pars Switch Company will be responsible for financing the project based on the tax mechanisms stipulated in the law, while the President’s Department for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-based Economy will guarantee the enforcement of the allocated tax credit through Zanjan Province’s General Department for Tax.
It is worth noting that the agreement will remain valid for four years from the date the tax credit is issued to Pars Switch Zanjan, and the project will be implemented at the IASBS campus.
