Statement by the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) on the occasion of the election of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei (may his sublime presence endure) as the new helmsman of the ship of the revolution

The great, patient, and martyr-nurturing nation of Islamic Iran;
With hearts filled with sorrow over the heavenly ascension of Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (may God sanctify his pure soul), we offer our condolences to the presence of Hazrat Vali-Asr (may God hasten his reappearance) and all the free people of the world. The loss of that striving jurist who spent a lifetime in the path of exalting the word of God and the power of Iran is an irreparable blow to the body of the Islamic nation.
At this sensitive and historic juncture, the worthy and wise selection of the pious jurist, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei (may his sublime presence endure), as the new helmsman of the ship of the revolution is the fruit of the penetrating insight of the nation's Assembly of Experts. This blessed appointment, which took place with the aim of continuing the straight path of the revolution and safeguarding the lasting legacy of the Imams of the revolution, promises the continuation of the honour, solidity, and glory of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic.
While renewing its covenant with the high ideals of the precious martyrs, the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) offers its congratulations on this intelligent choice to his holiness and the noble nation of Iran, and asks the Almighty God for the continuation of success and a long life with honour for him in this critical responsibility.
