IASBS issues condolence message following martyrdom of scholar Dr Ali Larijani

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

مِنَ المُؤمِنينَ رِجالٌ صَدَقوا ما عاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيهِ ۖ فَمِنهُم مَن قَضىٰ نَحبَهُ

“Among the believers are men who have been true to the covenant they made with God; some of them have fulfilled their vow.”

The martyrdom of Dr Ali Larijani has been deeply painful. May God bless his soul; he was an ethical, faithful, patient, dignified, wise, thoughtful, and soft‑spoken yet action‑oriented man. May his martyrdom be blessed and may his path have many followers. Although his loss is difficult to bear, that life, filled with values throughout, has reached an honourable and noble end.

However, the depth of this sorrow has stemmed from the fact that he was not only a prominent politician, but also a symbol of loyalty to the system and to the people. As an academic and an outstanding figure, he spoke and acted with humility and prudence in every arena, from his transformative management at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, to the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and to the Supreme National Security Council.

During these turbulent days of national and regional developments, he was among the influential figures guiding the managerial helm of the country, and today he has joined the caravan of martyrs. He and his son, Martyr Morteza, along with their other martyred companions, sacrificed their lives so that the name of Iran might be upheld in the international arena.

The Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) extends its condolences over this great loss to the Supreme Leader, the respected family of the martyr, and the country’s scientific community.

May his memory be honoured and his path endure.
