Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) has been opened at a ceremony in the presence of the Director General of the Technical and Vocational Training Organisation of Zanjan Province, Dr Mohammad Reza Ansari, other officials from the Provincial Technical and Vocational Training Organisation. The university officials present in the ceremony included the Vice-President for Administration, Finance, Education, and Research, Prof Zaare-Nahandi, and the Director of the Industry Liaison Department, Dr Amin Abdollahi.
The centre has been established within the framework of the “Skill Empowerment Plan for University Students and Graduates with an Employment Approach,” under the authorisation of the Zanjan Provincial Technical and Vocational Training Organisation. Its objective is to develop the professional skills of students and graduates, strengthen career capabilities, and create a more effective link between university education and the needs of the labour market.
During the ceremony, the Director General of the Technical and Vocational Training Organisation of Zanjan Province, Dr Mohammad Reza Ansari, highlighted the importance of skill training in the career paths of young people and graduates. He emphasised the necessity of strengthening the connection between the university and the skill training system, identifying the development of vocational training and the provision of appropriate opportunities for acquiring market-relevant skills as effective factors in workforce empowerment and the facilitation of employment pathways.
Following this, attendees visited the university’s Science and Technology Park building to examine its facilities in the fields of technology and innovation. During this tour, the Internet of Things (IoT) section was introduced, and the capacities and activities undertaken in this area were reviewed.
The establishment of the Skill Training and Career Counselling Management Centre provides a foundation for utilising the scientific and educational capacities of the university and the specialised capabilities of the Technical and Vocational Training Organisation in the field of skill training and career counselling. It represents a significant step towards developing collaboration between the university and the Zanjan Provincial Technical and Vocational Training Organisation.
