According to the IASBS Public Relations department, a ceremony to mark Employees’ Day, coinciding with 26 August, has been held in the presence of the IASBS President, Prof Sadollah Nasiri Gheydari, the university founder, Prof Yousef Sobouti, and a number of managers and staff of the university.

During the ceremony, the IASBS President offered congratulations on Employees’ Day and marked Government Week. While commemorating the memory of the martyrs Rajai and Bahonar, he stated that Government Week serves as a reminder of difficult days in the country’s history; days when the then President and Prime Minister, the martyrs Rajai and Bahonar, were martyred under challenging national circumstances.

Emphasising the importance of the standing and prestige of the institution, the IASBS President said that the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences is a reputable university, and the trust placed in it by officials and the country’s scientific community is the result of years of scientific and managerial effort and activity.

Referring to the role of staff, faculty, and students in the formation and development of the university, Prof Nasiri Gheydari noted that Prof Yousef Sobouti also emphasises that the progress of this university has not been the result of a single individual’s efforts. He said the conscientious and responsible efforts of faculty members, staff, and students had played an undeniable role in bringing the university to its current position.

Addressing the university staff, he added: “Each of you has, through the responsibilities and duties you bear, taken steps towards the progress of this university, and it has been your capable hands that have brought this institution to its current respectable and trusted position. For my part, I sincerely thank and appreciate the efforts of each and every one of you.”

The IASBS President also commented on the importance of ethics and compassion in scientific and administrative environments, stating: “One of the most important human qualities is ethics, and if ethics and a spirit of service do not prevail within an organisation, achieving individual and collective goals will be difficult.”

Following this, the Vice-President for Administration, Finance, Education, and Research, Prof Zaare-Nahandi, also offered congratulations on Employees’ Day and, noting the importance of human capital at the university, presented a report on the status of the workforce.

During the ceremony, six exemplary university staff members were honoured in recognition of their hard work and worthy service. Furthermore, four staff members, who have reached retirement after years of service, were recognised with the presentation of certificates of appreciation.

Finally, a music group performed, and attendees, including the founder of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences, Prof Yousef Sobouti, took commemorative photographs.
