My research focuses on the structure and function of proteins under both healthy and pathogenic conditions. I investigate the structural alterations and toxicity of amyloid protein aggregates implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. In parallel, I study functional amyloids within bacterial biofilms produced by pathogenic bacteria, food-industry contaminants, and species with potential industrial applications. I am particularly interested in expanding my research on bacterial biofilms, with a special emphasis on their industrial applications.
