The names of 5 IASBS faculty members have been included on the list of the 2% most cited scientists of the world.
Recently, the Islamic World Science and Technology Monitoring and Citation Institute (ISC) has published a list of 2% of the world's most cited scientists. The Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences has five of the world's most cited scientists as its faculty members. Prof Babak Karimi with 9,637 citations, Dr Mohammad Mehdi Najafpour with 6,333 citations, Prof Babak Kaboudin with 3,912 citations, Prof Hamid Abdulahi with 3,545 citations and Dr Fazalullah Soleimani with 2,260 citations are on this list. These five scientists from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences have had the highest number of citations to researchers' scientific productions in world-renowned scientific journals.
Eight IASBS lecturers were among the two percent most cited scientists in 2022. Dr Mohammad Mahdi Najafpour with 805 citations, Prof Hossein Molavi with 664 citations, Prof Babak Karimi with 513 citations, Dr Amin Abdolahi with 505 citations, Dr Mohammad Gholinejad with 343 citations, Dr Amir Hatami with 287 citations per year, Prof Babak Kaboudin with 255 citations and Dr Elham Tahmasebi with 192 citations are on this list.
Stanford University have used Elsevier Publishers' abstract and citation database, Scopus, to select more than two hundred thousand scientists in the world, equivalent to 2% of the most cited scientists. The name of the IASBS President, Prof Babak Karimi, has been on the list of the top 1% scientists of the world since 2008 and that of Dr Mohammad Mahdi Najafpour since 2016.
