In Iran, about 4.7% of the babies are born with peripheral hearing impairment, which is higher than the global average. There is also hearing impairment in the elderly. It was with these groups in mind that the main idea behind the AvaNama software took shape in 2015 by a research group at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology under the supervision of Dr Mansoor Davoodi. The first version of AvaNama was released in autumn 2019 compatible with both Windows and Android operating systems.

Lack of feedback control in the air conditioning system can lead to energy loss in winters and summers. Dr Pahlevani and colleagues at the Computer Science and Information Technology Department have designed a control system in the “CS & IT” building that uses feedback on heat and moisture from users in 10 rooms to make their working environment more comfortable.

In the first Haames Festival, the IASBS Public Relations Office has gained the 1st, 2nd and 4th positions in “Design & Graphics”, “ Significant Public Relations Activities”, and “Audiovisual”, respectively. In this Festival, the past year’s performance of the public relations offices in 17 universities and research and technology centres in Country Region 3 was evaluated according to the indicators of publications, design and graphics, audiovisual production, modern electronic PRs, and significant PR activities. The IASBS Science and Technology Park’s Public Relations Office was also chosen as a superior PR among the science and technology parks in Region 3.
