The IASBS students are hereby informed that following a decision by the Security Council of Zanjaan Province, in order to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, all educational activities at the University will be suspended from Monday, 24 February 2020 until the end of the week. Any decisions to extend the suspension will be announced consequently in coordination with and approval of the Security Council of the Province.

Dr Shiva Akbari-Birgani, a faculty member of the Biological Sciences Department, and her colleagues (Dr Saeed Mohammedi, a faculty member at Tehran Medical University, and Ms Zahra Madadi, an MSc student of biochemistry at the IASBS) have designed a dual purpose biosensor that can carry out gene therapy and live cell imaging simultaneously. The new biosensor has been registered as an invention after scientific evaluation at the Centre for Intellectual Property.
