The 30th Annual IASBS Meeting on Condensed Matter Physics and the One-Day School on Quantum Technologies, will be held from May 27 to May 29, 2025 at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS), Zanjan.

The 7th International and 9th National IASBS Symposium on Biological Sciences will be held on May 6&7, 2025. The theme of the conference is “Cancer: Molecular Cell Approach.” An outstanding array of domestic and foreign scientists will share their recent findings at the conference.

The Faculty of Earth Sciences at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) is pleased to announce a two-day Sedimentology Workshop (including one day of field operations), specifically designed for undergraduate geology students across the country. On the occasion of 10 November, World Science Day for Peace and Development, The IASBS President, Prof Sadollah Nasiri Gheydari, has issued a message emphasising the fundamental role of science in building a just, sustainable and dignified world. On the occasion of Passive Defence Week, the management board of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) has held a meeting with the Director General of the Passive Defence Organisation of Zanjan Province, Dr Abbas Babaei. The eleventh Biruni Commemoration and Young Researchers’ Recognition Ceremony has been held by the Basic Sciences Division of the Iranian Academy of Sciences. The event took place on Thursday, 23 October 2025.

A ceremony has been held at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) to commemorate the National Day of Hafez, the celebrated Iranian poet known as Lesan-ol-Gheyb, Khwājeh Shams-od-Din Mohammad Hafez-e Shirazi. The ceremony took place on Sunday, 12 October, in the university’s main hall.
